The app

WPM Tracker measures how fast you type from the keys you press. It keeps only the information it needs to work, never the text you write, and it stores all of it on your own computer.

Nothing leaves your computer except the check for updates, which asks releases.wpmtracker.com whether there is a new version.

Downloads and update checks

When you download WPM Tracker, or the app checks for updates, releases.wpmtracker.com counts it, so we know roughly how many copies are in use. To count each computer once a day, it mixes the computer's IP address and the name of the browser or app with a random value, and keeps only the result. The random value is deleted the next day, so the result can't be traced back to you or linked from one day to the next. Your IP address is never stored.

The website

wpmtracker.com counts its visits with DataFast, without cookies. DataFast sees the pages you look at, the site that sent you, your country, and your kind of browser and device. It tells visits apart by mixing your IP address and browser with a value that changes every day, so a visit can't be followed from one day to the next. It also notes when you press Download or Buy Pro.

What you type in the demo stays in your browser. Cloudflare delivers the site, and sees your IP address to do that and to protect the site from attacks.

When you buy Pro

Pro is sold through Link, the checkout from Stripe. Link gets your card details, email address and country, under its own privacy policy, and tells us your email address, your country, what you bought and what you paid. We use that to send your license and to keep the company's accounts. Brevo sends the license email to your address.

After you pay, the checkout sends you back to wpmtracker.com with the checkout's id in the address. DataFast uses it to read the purchase from Stripe, so we can see which visits lead to purchases.

Norwegian bookkeeping law (bokføringsloven) requires us to keep the record of a purchase for five years. We keep your email address with it, so that we can help you if you lose your license.

When you write to us

We keep the conversation for as long as it takes to help you. If you send us kind words about WPM Tracker, we only share them as a testimonial if you say yes.

Who helps us

Your rights

You can ask us what we have about you, and ask us to correct it or delete it, except what bookkeeping law requires us to keep. Write to hello@wpmtracker.com. If you think we handle your information wrongly, you can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet).
